Out and About at Meat Loaf’s Show, “Rocktellz and Cocktails”

By October 8, 2013 No Comments

Whenever I can, I get out to support my fellow Las Vegas entertainers. Recently, I attended “Rocktellz and Cocktails” at Planet Hollywood, featuring none other than rock legend Meat Loaf.

The supremely talented Meat Loaf.

The man, the comfort food, Meat Loaf.

“Rocktellz and Cocktails” appears in the former “Peepshow” theater, and is a series featuring a variety of music greats.

Meat Loaf is a true legend, and he pulls out all the stops in his new Planet Hollywood show.

We should probably move some of those deck chairs to the other side of the boat.

I love hitting the red carpet because, while I shy away from the limelight (ahem), I love seeing all my Vegas friends and folks with shows on The Strip.

At “Rocktellz and Cocktails,” I bumped into Frank Marino, star of the iconic female impersonation show, “Diva’s Las Vegas,” with whom I share the theater at The Linq. Which might explain why I’m always covered in glitter and feathers. And that’s the story I’m sticking to.

One of us dresses as a woman a lot, the other had a long-running show at the Riviera.

The crowd was loving songs from Meat Loaf’s nearly 50 years in the biz, like “I Would Do Anything for Love,” “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad” and “Paradise by the Dashboard Light.” The hits just kept on coming!

Few people know this, but I minored in Mugging It Up On the Red Carpet in college.

I wasn’t able to stick around to meet Meat Loaf, but he does a meet-and-greet after the show. Find out more at the Planet Hollywood Web site, and welcome to The Strip, Meat. Or should I call you Mr. Loaf? Awkward.
